ISO 22000 Certification
Why you need ISO 22000?
ISO 22000 is a new international standard, designed to ensure the security of supply chains worldwide and includes HACCP principles. It applies to all organizations that are directly or indirectly involved in one of the stages of the food chain and working to implement a management system to guarantee food safety grant.
ISO 22000 "Food safety management systems - Requirements for organizations of food" can be successfully applied in various companies, from seed producers or processors of meat, milk etc, continuing with food carriers and reaching to shops, catering units and manufacturers of equipment used in food. "Since food risks can occur at any stage of the food chain, adequate control throughout is key," says Jacob Faergemand, member of the committee that developed ISO ISO 22000. Moreover, it is recognized that food safety is a shared responsibility assumed by a joint effort of all participants in the food chain. Worldwide, companies involved in the production, processing, transportation or supply of food to recognize that customers require more stringent them to demonstrate their ability to identify and control the risks of contamination of the entire food chain. ISO 22000 can be implemented alone or in combination with other standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. Romanian legislation obliges companies involved in the food industry to implement a food safety management system without requiring company certify the implemented system. However, we recommend certification system implemented by an accredited certification body, to eliminate from the start most discussions related to the correct implementation of the system.
